DESCRIPTION:This month we welcome Andy Brown\, who is presenting to us for the first time.   He’s Commercial Director for Quinta de Pedra Alta\, a winery with a long history based in the Douro Valley region of Portugal. \nI’m always excited when we can do a whole evening tasting wines from a single portfolio as it means we can explore their whole range of wines.   We’ll be starting with a couple of whites\, before moving on to taste four of their reds.  And as it’s the Douro\, we must finish with a couple of ports.   All the wines from Pedra Alta are blends\, several made with grapes from vines which are more than 40 years old.  So we can see how the winemaker influences the style and character of the wines through careful blending of different varietals. \nAndy has been Commercial Director at Quinta de Pedra Alta for over 6 years\, building on a career in the wine industry which goes back thirty years. \nI’m sure this will be a popular evening.  So book early! \nHow to book your places \nBooking for members opens on Wednesday 26th February.   Guest bookings open on Thursday 6th March.   Please do not try to book or pay any money before these dates. \nFirstly\, please check with Clive that places are still available.
