Visit to Stanlake Park Wine Estate, Berkshire
July 27 @ 6:00 pm - 8:15 pm
Following on from the success of last year’s visit to Greyfriars vineyard, this year we have arranged a visit to Stanlake Park Wine Estate. The estate is situated near Twyford in Berkshire. It’s about 18 miles from Hook, so should be easy to reach for our evening visit.
Since 1979 Stanlake Park Wine Estate has developed some of the highest quality vineyards in Berkshire, and uses grapes from these properties to produce a wide range of English wines, including white, rosé, red and traditional method sparkling wine. Nico Centonze is Stanlake Park’s skilful Italian winemaker. He personally follows the progress of each wine, carefully tasting, blending and selecting which wines to bottle or to mature.
Our tour will start at 6pm. You’ll visit some of their vines (weather permitting) before heading inside the winery to see the grape-pressing area, the fermentation tanks, the barrel room, the fizz room and the bottling line. The tour will then continue with a tutored tasting during which you will be offered 5 tastings from their award winning portfolio to taste. You’ll also be able to enjoy a platter of delicious British cheese and crackers. The evening should finish by about 8.15pm.
Charge: £35 each for members and guests.
There is a limit of 20 places for this tour.
